Annie's Ramblings 22nd October, 2014
Hi there. Just a quick newsletter this week as we are heading north today to visit family and to be a merchant for the Golden Bay Quilters Exhibition in Collingwood. The car is packed and ready to go, and I am wondering what I have forgotten!
Yes, the shop will be open Saturday and Sunday, thanks to Karen and Kaye who will be manning the fort, but closed Monday for the public holiday.
This week I have a couple of very good deals for you. The first one is this nifty bedside or table lamp which is a really good pre-Christmas deal from the suppliers. Originally priced at $89.00 we are able to offer a limited number on a first in first served basis for $42.00. I am not so sure about the fabric shade, but you could easily take a pattern off it and make a new one to fit over the frame in some gorgeous French General fabric or a favourite linen to match your décor.
If you are looking for a small project to stitch over the weekend this beautiful red poppy brooch by New Zealand designer Lynn Manning is really smart and quite simple to put together. The best thing is that everything you need including felt, threads, pattern and needle is included in the kit for $15.00.
On to the recipe...it is a little different this week, and one that Karen shared with me the other day. She swears by it, however I have to confess that clean windows have not been my top priority this week.
Window Magic (outside)
- 2 litres of water
- 1 tablespoon of rinse aid
- 2-3 tablespoons of liquid detergent
Mix all of the ingredients together. Spray your windows down with a hose to get them wet, then wipe or brush the solution onto your windows, then immediately hose it off. That’s all there is to it and you’re done. The remaining water just sheets off and you don’t need to dry it off!
That’s all from me this week. Have a great weekend.
Take care and happy stitching
Rachel
