Annie's Ramblings 8 September 2022 - Ex-symposium machines, and what about a "roadie"?
Hi there,
The National Quilting Symposium just a few weeks away and I am pleased to be able to tell you about the ex-symposium Bernina sewing machines that are available now for pre-sale. This event is being held in Lower Hutt this year with Bernina being the major sponsor and supplier of all the sewing machines that are used in the classrooms.

As you can see there are a good range of machines on offer at extremely good pricing. This is an opportunity to snag a really good buy on machines that have may have only been used for a few hours or a couple of days and then fully serviced – and it only happens every 2 years (or in this case 3 years due to Covid). However you do need to pre-book and pay a deposit up front, so check it out and let us know what you need.
You are welcome to come in store and try out the machines or check them out on line at www.bernina.co.nz
It is still possible to register for symposium or simply come along and wander around the exhibitions and the merchant mall for free! I am looking forward to seeing you there J
If you are keen to join me for the Fibre Arts Tour of the lower North Island at the end of January there are still a few seats on the bus. This will be a really amazing trip with hands on workshops with Griet Lombard and Dianne Southy, lots of shopping, visits to amazing textile artists, great food and accommodation, with plenty of extra treats along the way. You can check out the full itinerary here.

This week’s recipe is a easy desert (or breakfast) that you can whip up with a just a few ingredients, and you can swap out the fruit component for whatever you have on hand.
Blueberry and Banana Chia Pots
- 250 g frozen blueberries
- 1 banana
- 2 passion fruit
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 150 ml coconut milk
- 100g chia seed
Put the prepared fruit, honey and coconut milk into the blender and whizz until smooth. Stir in the chia seed and chill in the fridge for about 4 hours, stirring occasionally. (The chia seeds will swell to thicken the liquid). Devide the mixture between 4 glasses or bowls and sprinkle with a few extra blueberries.
