Annies Newsletter - new range of fabrics from Edyta Sitar
Hi there.
While today is another day for warm coats and sensible shoes, isn’t it great to think that we are almost at the shortest day, and it is downhill to Spring from there!
It has been a week for fabric deliveries here with the very beautiful Jardin de Versailles range from French General just arrived in. This is stunning and I have beautiful new quilt on the go show casing these fabrics, so stay tuned!
The new range of fabrics from Edyta Sitar (Laundry Basket Quilts) has also just arrived with lots gorgeous creams and blues to tempt you.
Something else I thought I would show you are these new Yazzi Bags. These are a great hold all for all your sewing stuff with endless pockets and pouches. These are well priced at $99.00. These would also look amazing with the front of the bag embellished with a Sue Spargo or Wendy Williams design...this is already on my “to-do” list!
Well...it is back to the sewing machine for me as I am on a mission to finish off a whole lot of new samples which will be revealed first at our Akaroa retreat...but stay tuned to the newsletter over the next few weeks for more updates!
This week’s recipe is a good side dish or alternative to plain mashed potatoes. They are also very tasty with the addition of some diced ham or bacon.
Potato Puffs
- 1 ½ c mashed potatoes
- 2 tbsp milk
- 25 g butter
- ¾ c grated cheese
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1 small onion, grated
Melt the butter in a pan and lightly saute the onion. Add this to the mashed potatoes with the cheese and egg yolks. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold gently into the potato. Drop the mixture into small rounds onto a greased oven tray and bake at 200C for about 15 mins or until golden and puffed.
Happy stitching,
Rachel and the team at Annie’s.
