Annie's Newsletter - beautiful collection of DMC threads in 35 new colours ...
Hi there. We are now back home and racing towards December now with the annual Bernina Sale in full swing. If you are thinking about a new machine for the Christmas stocking now is the time with some fantastic savings available!
The ex-symposium Bernina 350PE (complete with walking foot and ¼” seam foot) has been further reduced to $1699 in order to clear this stock and make room in the warehouse. This machine is normally $2599 – a saving on $900.00 and comes with the full Bernina warranty. These machines will never be cheaper!
We also have 20% per cent off all Bernina and Bernette accessories including feet and trolley bags. There are also savings on Horn sewing chairs and cabinets.
Just arrived in is this beautiful collection of DMC threads in 35 new colours. This would also make a beautiful gift with two free patterns, presented beautifully in this gold coloured tin and at $65.00 it is good value. This is only $2.00 more than it would cost if you purchased the threads individually. (Limited stock available, so don’t miss out!)
Lots of exciting parcels are turning up at the moment including the first shipment of Sue Spargo’s new stitching book. This is the second edition of her Creative Stitching Book and has more pictures, more stitches and loads more inspiration at $55.00. (Yes, it is ok to buy presents for yourself!)
My parents are spending a few days with us this week so I thought I would share one of Mum’s recipe’s for this deliciously easy bread which I am sure is very good for you as well.
Jean’s Easy Yeast Bread (no kneading required!)
- 2 c boiling water
- 1 tbsp honey or golden syrup
- 2 c milk
- 1 tbsp dried yeast
- 1 tbsp wheatgerm
- 2 tsp salt
- 500 g white flour
- 500 g wholemeal flour and mixed grains such as cornmeal, rye and rolled oats
- Pumpkin or sunflower seeds can also be added.
Pour boiling water over the honey in a bowl, add the milk and sprinkle with the dried yeast and leave for 10 mins.
Put all the other ingredients in another bowl. Mix the wet and dry ingredients and place the dough into two greased loaf tins.
Place in a COLD oven and set at 95C for 35 mins and then bake at 180C for a further 45-50 mins or until the bread sounds hollow.
That’s all from me, happy stitching!
