Annie's Ramblings 20 April, 2016
Hi there, another week rolls around and we are another week closer to our long awaited Bernina launch on Saturday 7th of May. We are making space - the Christmas room is now being transformed into the “Bernina Room” and the boxes are arriving in droves!
National Bernina Product Educator Julie Veck will be in store for our launch as will Bernina General Manager Glyn Singleton along with an impressive line-up of both Bernina and Bernette machines. There will be some great pricing with some huge savings to be made, and each person ordering or purchasing a Bernina on the launch day will receive a Bernina trolley bag valued at more than $300.
In the meantime if you have a Bernina/Bernette now is a great time to stock up on any extra with 20% off. This could include anything from a walking foot, to a stitch regulator or a Bernina magnetic pin cushion or quick unpick or any of the hundreds of items in between. We have some of these things in stock, however the sale prices on the accessories and the machines will continue until the 15th of May and we can order whatever you need for delivery usually within 2 days.
If you are up for a new project and love the idea of wool and embroidery, this great little zip bag has plenty of space for your sewing tools. This was a workshop that Sue Spargo did some time ago and I have managed to convince her to release it as a pattern for us. The pattern is $24.00 or I am happy to put some colours together for you if you prefer a kit.
Just a reminder that there are a couple of quilt shows coming up, firstly the Motueka Quilting Connection 20-22 May. This is always a great exhibition and I will be there as a merchant. I will also be packing the trailer for Sew Marlborough Mini Symposium in Blenheim (14-18July). I received an email from the organisers the other day to say there are still spaces available in some of the classes.

Now for the recipe…
A little bit of Mexican on the side
- 2 tins of black eyed peas or black beans drained and rinsed
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 med size onion
- ½ c chopped jalapeno peppers
- 1 c Italian dressing
- 2 avocados, chopped
- Cayenne pepper and salt to taste.
Mix all the ingredients together adding the avocado last of all and then serve as a side dish or as a dip with corn chips.
Well…that’s all from me this week, and a reminder that we will be CLOSED ANZAC DAY.
Happy stitching
Rachel
