The Nature Trail Story...

"Teaching is my passion and has filled my calendar for years. When I fell ill I had an obligation, turned opportunity, to take a hiatus from the road. As I prepared myself for the trying months ahead, I looked for new projects to keep my mind sharp and my fingers nimble. I soon found myself becoming a bit restless and somewhat lonely not being surrounded by like-minded friends. It was then when I realized that I didn't have to completely disconnect from teaching, what I needed was a different outlet to share, so I did what many do in our day and age, and turned to social media. My quilt ‘Nature Trail’ was created over a year on Instagram. My intention was to create a quilt with my followers showcasing my three weights of Eleganza Perle Cotton. Each month I released two versions of a pattern which consisted of a log cabin block embellished with simple stitchery. The twelve blocks, of the wool version, combined to create ‘Nature Trail’."  ~Sue
