Dry Roasted Garlic
- Whole bulbs of Garlic
- ½ Cup of Water
Place the garlic bulbs in a small metal dish. Pour the water into the crock pot and sit the garlic dish in this. Cover and cook for 2 hours on high. Serve as an accompaniment to other dishes or squeeze out of the skins and use in a vegetable mash, pesto, garlic bread, or with any meat dish.
French Toast
- 1 tsp mild honey
- ¼ tsp vanilla essence
- Pinch of salt
- 3 tbsp cream
- 3 lightly beaten eggs
- 4 slices of ciabatta bread
- 25 g butter
Preheat the oven to 150C. Warm the honey, vanilla and salt and whisk together with the eggs and cream. Soak the bread in the mixture until soggy. Melt the butter in the fry pan and brown the ciabatta on both sides before placing it into the oven for about 6-7 minutes until puffed up. Serve with a fresh or frozen berry compote or banana, bacon and maple syrup, or your favourite topping.
